Living The Dream

One final personal post (well more a plea!) before something more serious, it is my blog after all!

My friends and I have entered an O2 competition which requires us to obtain as many ‘likes’ as possible on our team page in order for us to fulfil our dream of gracing The Emirates Stadium turf with our silky(ish) skills:

 http://www.o2blueroom.co.uk/O2Fives/Team/Details/Flitwick-Gooners/80

As I write we are currently sitting in 7th place with 862 votes (following a brief spell in top spot), please click the link above and press ‘like’ to boost our chances.  That is all you need to do, it couldn’t be simpler.

This would mean the world to the eight Bedfordshire based lads who make up the ‘Flitwick Gooners’:

Adam Cobley (Captain)

Nickname:  Cobs

Position:  Midfield

Favourite ever Arsenal player:  Patrick Vieira

Favourite current Arsenal player:  Nicklas Bendtner

Interesting fact:  Adam is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support in October of this year.  He is captain of the side based on his mobile phone network provider rather than footballing ability.  Author of this blog.

Gary Warner

Nickname(s): Dobby (the house elf), Dobson, Warnsey, Banter Gnome.

Position:  Midfield

Kyle Hedges

Nickname(s):  Bobby Moobs, Boy George.

Still Here

Just a quick note to let you know i’m still here…

Last weekend saw Manuel Almunia drop a clanger of gargantuan proportions which gifted West Bromwich Albion a 2-0 lead over Arsenal just shy of the hour mark. Despite Andrey Arshavin and Robin Van Persie clawing back two goals for The Gunners, only time will tell how costly Almunia’s error will prove in the race for the Premier League title.

Seeing as my last post came after another Arsenal gaffe worthy of its inevitable use on countless blooper DVD’s it seemed like the perfect moment to recommence with the blog. Work commitments, an increased onus on training/fundraising for my Mount Kilimanjaro charity trek (which is now scarily close) and a trip to Barcelona for Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat at Camp Nou have led to an extended period of silence on itbeganin1992.

Despite the result, being forced into the ground before the game and held afterwards the trip was fantastic; plenty of paella, tapas, beer, Spanish measures of rum and a photo opportunity with Hristo Stoichkov and Arsene Wenger who were watching the Blackpool v Chelsea game together.

This photo is also in the flickr album http://www.flickr.com/photos/itbeganin1992/ which has been set up for itbeganin1992. Here you can also find Bill Nighy, Dwight Yorke and Romford Pele, feel free to check it out!

Something more substantial soon,
